I know this rule doesn’t apply to everyone, but Adobe just ruined the better part of my day with its’ Version Cue software and I feel like I need to warn others. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6 on my MacBook. My processor started to hang right around 70%, which was causing the fan to max out. The noise was driving me to insanity. The weird thing was that the individual process utilization did not add up to the full utilization. I did a little more looking around, and it turns out that VersionCueCS3 continually died and then spawned under a new process ID. I had recently uninstalled Adobe’s Creative Suite CS3, but it turns out I missed a lot. There are files chilling all over the place after the uninstall. I found out the guilty file location is in
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS3
After deleting the contents, and emptying the trash, all was well. Now on to the work I should have started early this morning.
Thank you, Adobe.
